Act. for kids
Green.tv is a young company and we have two Directors with young children. So we’re always thinking about how to get kids to interact with the environment and foster a deep and lasting respect for nature. Below you’ll find resources to educate your kids about climate change and get them involved with nature:
Bright Green Youth a Danish based internationally focused organization to help teens educate themselves about the environment and climate change; will be active at the Cop15
Climate Classroom: what’s up with global warming from NWF; has resources for kids and teenagers and a green curriculum for schools
Ecobuddies an online game for kids 5-12 designed to instill “green values” in kids; for full use of site a membership is required; Criticism: parking kids in front of a machine when instilling green values might be more effective with a family outing instead.
globalcool.org focused on tweens and teens (and older people too), making “eco-geek, eco-chic”
greenlivingideas.com Kids page topics include “how to go green for school” and engage kids with eco-preneurship
kidsclick.org web search for kids by librarian, easy to use because it’s indexed by subject; age range 5-12 year olds
myabodo.com Sims style house and neighborhood construction in an eco-friendly manner– build your house and compete with others on your block to have the smallest carbon footprint; from the UK’s DEFRA and Schools Councils and others
